Arlene A. Odenbrett
Arlene A. Odenbrett, age 79, of Glencoe and formerly of
Maple Plain, died Thursday, May 31, 2001, at Glencoe Regional Health Services.
She was born June 23, 1921, in Meadow Township, Plymouth
County, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Margaret Schrier Staab.
Arlene Staab married William J. “Bill” Odenbrett
on November 27, 1945 in Pipestone. God blessed their marriage with seven
children.
Arlene’s family, including her children and grandchildren,
always came first. In her spare time she enjoyed embroidering, making quilts,
gardening, piecing together puzzles, and playing cards. She was also known
for her extraordinary cooking and as the best pie maker.
Arlene is survived by her husband William J. “Bill”
Odenbrett; seven children, Allen L. (Doreen) Odenbrett of Winsted, Teresa
M. (Robert) Steele of Cushing, Wis., Donald D. (Pam) Odenbrett of Lester
Prairie, Doris J. (Thomas) Breen of Minnetrista, Sharon E. Dose of Lake
City and fiancee Norm Luhmann, William J. “Billy” Odenbrett, and
Duane H. (Diane) Odenbrett of Lester Prairie; 18 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;
nine brothers, Lawrence, Melvin, Robert, Dennis, Virgil, Al, Gerald, Wayne,
and Ronnie Staab; two sisters, Mildred Odenbrett and Verna Slinger; many
other relatives and friends.
Preceding Arlene in death were her parents and a brother,
Glenn.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Arlene Odenbrett was conducted
Monday, June 4, 10 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted. The
Rev. Paul L. Wolf was the Celebrant, and interment followed at Fort Snelling
National Cemetery.
Friends called at Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, on Sunday,
June 3, from 4-8 p.m. A prayer service was Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m.
Lavon Kielkucki was the organist for the Mass and Arlene’s
granddaughters were the gift bearers.
Mike Kuhnau, Christopher Odenbrett, Jonathan Breen, Thomas
Breen, Rob Steele, Terry Steele, Matt Odenbrett, Joe Dose, and Bruce Steele
served as the casket bearers.
The Chilson Funeral Home, Winsted, served the family.
