Orvilla Olga Lange
Orvilla Olga Lange, age 80, of Howard Lake, passed away
Jan. 2, 2002, at the Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home.
Orvilla was born Aug. 15, 1921, in Middleville Township,
Wright County, the daughter of William and Erna (nee Hansel) Lange. A life-long
member of St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake, she was baptized Sept.
11, 1921 by the Rev. A. L. Oetjen and confirmed in her faith March 25, 1934
by the Rev. C. G. Seltz.
She was employed at several full-time jobs, working in
the canning factory, Molded Products in Maple Plaine, and for many years
at Tonka Toys.
She enjoyed singing in the church choir, traveling, crocheting,
quilting, growing flowers, and spending time with her nieces, nephews, and
their children.
While a resident at the Howard Lake Care Center, Orvilla
was called to her eternal rest at the age of 80 years, five months, and
18 days.
Orvilla was preceded in death by her parents, William and
Erna Lange.
She is survived by her sister, Erma Hechsel and husband
Arnold of Howard Lake; four nieces, Diane (Glen) Johnson of Annandale, LaNette
(Terry) Thorson of Howard Lake, Susan (Robert) Moritz of Hutchinson, and
Wendy (Jason) Mapes of Monticello; one nephew, Jeffrey Hechsel of Plymouth;
six great-nephews; four great-nieces; and a host of cousins, relatives,
and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, Jan. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Swanson-Peterson
Funeral Home in Howard Lake, with a prayer service at 8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday, Jan. 7, 2 p.m.
at St. James Lutheran Church, Howard Lake with visitation one hour prior
to the service. Diane Johnson will serve as organist.
Interment will be conducted at Howard Lake City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Diane Johnson, Glen Johnson, LaNette
Thorson, Terry Thorson, Susan Moritz, Robert Moritz, Wendy Mapes, Jason
Mapes, and Jeffrey Hechsel.
Arrangements were made by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral
Home of Howard Lake.
