Ethel A. Laumann
Ethel A. Laumann, age 80, of Watertown, passed away Friday,
April 26, 2002, at her home in Watertown.
Ethel was born Aug. 18, 1921, at Camden Township, Carver
County, the daughter of August and Minnie (Briesemeister) Kohls. She was
baptized and confirmed at St. Mark Lutheran Church in New Germany.
She married Edwin G. Laumann April 25, 1946, at Holy Trinity
Catholic Church in Winsted by the Rev. Motzheim. She was a loving wife of
56 years to Edwin.
Ethel loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and doing embroidery, was
a great cook, and had a great sense of humor. She also worked at Tonka Toys
for many years.
Ethel was preceded in death by her son, DeVan Laumann;
parents, August and Minnie Kohls; brothers Ewald and Hugo Kohls; sisters,
Frieda Gongoll, Hilma Burdorf, Leona Luke, Elda Kohls, and Sedonia Kohls
in infancy.
She is survived by her husband Edwin; daughters and sons-in-law,
Glorianne and Michael Sexton of Watertown, Jeanine and Roman Widmer of Howard
Lake, Idona and Donnie Gesinger of Watertown, Connie and Patrick Sexton
of Minnetonka;
Grandchildren Kristin and Alan Kamann, Shawn and Elizabeth
Sexton, Heather Sexton, Jason and Jocelyn Widmer, Alisha Guzman, Rachel
Widmer, Daniel Gesinger, Brian Gesinger, Jonathan Gesinger, Collin, Kyle,
and Elizabeth Sexton; great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Erin, Laurel, Grace,
Sierra, Nicholas, Jolene, Nathan, Ashley, Kailey, Brandon, and Kimberly.
He is further survived by brother Melvin Kohls of Howard
Lake; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Evelyn Kohls of Hopkins, John
Burdorf of Arlington, Vangie Laumann of Mayer, Virginia Goede of New Germany,
Myrtle Laumann of Norwood Young America, Adeline and John Gauthier of New
Mexico, Rose Ann and Alex Gebhardt of Belle Plaine; nieces, nephews, other
relatives, and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial was Tuesday, April 30, 2002,
10:30 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Winsted, with the Rev. Paul
Wolf officiating,
Interment was at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery, Winsted.
Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home, Waconia.
