Ella (Tewes) Abram obituary, 7/3/2003


Ella Emma Lydia (Tewes) Abram, age 90, of Hutchinson, passed
away Thursday, July 3, 2003, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia, Minn.
Ella was born April 30, 1913 in Hutchinson. She was the
daughter of Henry and Amanda (Prieve) Tewes.
She was baptized as an infant June 1, 1913 and later was
confirmed in her faith as a youth April 10, 1927 at Immanuel Lutheran Church
in Acoma Township.
She received her education at country school in her home
area.
Ella was united in marriage to Clifford E. Abram June 8,
1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Acoma Township. Their marriage was blessed
with three children: Janet, Gary, and Joyce.
Ella and Clifford made their home on a farm in Renville
County. They also resided in Silver Lake and Lester Prairie, and in the
past few years, Ella resided in Hutchinson. She was employed as a waitress
in Hutchinson, and enjoyed taking care of her family as a loving wife and
mother.
After retiring from farming, they owned and operated Henry’s
Corner in Silver Lake.
Ella and Clifford were blessed with 47 years of marriage
together, before Clifford passed away in 1989.
Ella was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson,
where she was active in the Ladies Aid and project groups. In her spare
time, she enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, doing crossword puzzles,
and working with flowers and in her garden.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Amanda
Tewes; husband Clifford Abram; brothers Arthur, Edwin, Walter, Willard,
and Fritz Tewes; and sister Verna Runke.
Ella is survived by her children Janet Wendorff (Wallace)
of Glencoe, Gary Abram (Joleen) of Hutchinson, and Joyce Tews (Glenn) of
Hutchinson.
Ella is also survived by grandchildren Mark Wendorff, Kristine
Boesche (Brad), Tracie Tuman (Scott), Gina Abram, Matthew Tews (Cheryl),
Andrew Tews (Rachel), and Nicolas Tews and his fiancée, Crystal Wacker.
She is further survived by great-grandchildren Mitchell
and Hannah Boesche, Jaylin and Mason Tuman, Mikkayla and Natasha Tews; sisters
Dorothy Schramm of Hutchinson, Elsie Wegner of Hutchinson; brothers Roy
Tewes of Hutchinson, Henry Tewes (Arlene) of Hutchinson,
John Tewes (Harriet) of Hutchinson, Leonard Tewes of Hutchinson;
brother-in-law Ervin Abram (Mildred) of Plymouth; many nieces, nephews,
other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services were Monday, July 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. at
Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, with interment in Oakland Cemetery
in Hutchinson.
The officiant was the Rev. Gerhard Bode. Paul Otte was
the organist and soloist, singing “On Eagle’s Wings.”
Congregational hymns were “What A Friend We Have In
Jesus,” “The Lord Is My Shepherd,” and “Beautiful Savior.”
Casket bearers were Mark Wendorff, Kristine Boesche, Matthew
Tews, Andy Tews, Nick Tews, Tracie Tuman, and Gina Abram.
Honorary casket bearers were Brad Boesche, Cheryl Tews,
Rachel Tews, Crystal Wacker, and Scott Tuman.
