Constance “Connie” Janikula
Constance “Connie” (Ludescher) Janikula, age
85, of Montrose died Thursday, March 27, 2003, at her grandson’s home in
Delano.
She was born Jan. 1, 1918, to Louis F. and Julia (Wilcek)
Ludescher in Rockford Township.
Connie was known for her love of cooking and creating recipes.
She was a longtime Pillsbury Bakeoff winner. Even over this past difficult
year, she continued to bake bread and Poppykuchen right up until this most
recent illness.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church
in Watertown.
Connie was preceded in death by her husband Lloyd, parents
Louis and Julia Ludescher, daughter-in-law Fran Janikula, one brother and
two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Judy and Donald Hanson,
son Gene and Barb Janikula; three grandchildren: Jeff and Tana Robasse,
Julie and Ken Halvorson, and Joe and Tracy Janikula; four great-grandchildren:
Allan, Tyler, Keith, and Kyle; three step-great-grandchildren: Christine,
Gavin, and Jackie,
She is further survived by sister Georgia Gerard-Snicker,
three sisters-in-law: Mary Janikula, Ellen Janikula, and Annette Ludescher,
and the Hausladen family.
A Mass of Christian burial took place Saturday, March 29,
2003, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. Father Frank
Wampach officiated for the Mass and prayer service.
Visitation was Friday, March 29 at the Iten Funeral Home
in Watertown.
Pallbearers for the service were Ken Pawelk, Bill Pollock,
Kenneth Kirchenwitz, Richard Kirchenwitz, Leo Salonek, and Ted Salonek.
Interment was in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Watertown.
Arrangements were made by the Iten Funeral Home in Watertown.
