Evangeline G. Tober, 61, of Norwood Young America, died
Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born Nov. 18, 1942 at Glencoe, the daughter of
Paul and Gertrude (Bentz) Jopp.
She was baptized Nov. 29, 1942, and confirmed April 14,
1957, both at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Hamburg.
She married Frederich Tober Oct. 25, 1964 at St. John’s
Lutheran Church in Young America by the Rev. R.L. Reith.
Evangeline was an active member of Lutheran Women Missionary
League at St. John’s Lutheran Church. She loved to help other people. Evangeline
was very fond of her animals. She was an avid collector of many things she
cherished.
Evangeline was preceded in death by husband Frederich Tober,
parents Paul and Gertrude Jopp, step-father Edward Tober, brother Roger
Jopp, sister Bonnie Lou Barlau, and brother-in-law William Barlau.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Darlene
and Dick Siegle of Norwood Young America, son and daughter-in-law Daniel
and Nancy Tober of Glencoe, grandchildren Danielle, David, and Alec, and
sister and brother-in-law Olga and Guido Lilienthal of Plato.
Evangeline is further survived by brother LeRoy Jopp and
fiancee Teri Johnson of Lakeville, nieces and nephews Dennis and Roberta
Lilienthal, godchild Deanna Lilienthal. Darren and Teri Lilienthal, Denise
and Scott Busse, Brittany Jopp, aunts Edna Bentz of Lester Prairie, Hildegard
Bentz of Norwood Young America, friend of the family Marvin Schultz of Norwood
Young America, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004 at 1:30 p.m.
at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Norwood Young America, with the Rev. David
Winter officiating.
Interment was at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Norwood
Young America.
Casketbearers were Dan Boll, Tim Hauser, Willard Stender,
Earl Stuedemann, Richard Braunwarth, and Brad Mueller.
Arrangements were made by the Johnson Funeral Home of Waconia.
