Anna M. Boehlke obituary, 10/12/05


Anna M. Boehlke, age 85 of Waverly, died Wednesday evening, Oct. 12, 2005 at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
She was born June 20, 1920 near Sherman Station, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of James and Anna Haekenkamp Cafferty.
Anna was joined in holy matrimoney to Edward C. Boehlke Nov. 13, 1943. God blessed their marriage with 10 children.
Serving for many years as the Marysville Township clerk (Wright County), Anna was also a former treasurer of the North West Deanery, a cook for many years at the Lake Bowl in Howard Lake, and served as a volunteer for the United Way.
The love of her life were her grandchildren. She also enjoyed the family farm, feeding calves, the out of doors, cooking, baking, gardening, old time music, and dancing with her loving husband.
Anna was baptized, confirmed, and married at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, and later became a faithful and longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, where she was a member of its C.C.W.
She is survived by her loving children: Edward Boehlke Jr. of Waverly, RoseAnn Boehlke of Elk River, Elroy Boehlke of Waverly, Everett (Tammy) Boehlke of Howard Lake, Elwin (Becky) Boehlke of Buffalo, Lois Nichols of Howard Lake, JoAnn (Jonathan) Dimino of Bayville, N.J.; and Eugene (Rita) Boehlke of Waverly; and 14 grandchildren: Pam (Duane) Koenen, Paula (Barry) Fritzke, Ron Boehlke, Lori (Richard) Smith, DeeAnn Boehlke, Edward Boehlke III; Eric Boehlke, Ross Nichols, Nicole Nichols and Jade Nichols; Adam Boehlke; Bridget Boehlke, Brittani Boehlke and Eugene Boehlke Jr.
Anna is further survived by six great-grandchildren: Kayla, Cody and Tyler Koenen; Matthew and Katie Fritzke, and Lexi Karnes; seven brothers and sisters: Bryan Cafferty, Jim Cafferty, Marie Lieb, Mark Cafferty, Jerome Cafferty, Alice Ziebarth, and Loretta Smykalski; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward C. Boehlke Sr., July 7, 1975; two infant sons; a son-in-law, Theodore “Ted” Nichols Dec. 29, 2003; daughter-in-law Lorraine Boehlke Feb. 6, 2004; her parents, James and Anna Cafferty; and by two brothers, John and Frank.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 15 at The Church of St. Mary in Waverly with Father Timothy Cloutier as the celebrant. Burial was in Holy Trinity Cemetery in Winsted.
Friends called at the church Friday, Oct. 14 from 3 to 8 p.m. A prayer service took place at 4 p.m., and a rosary was recited 7:30 p.m.
Casket bearers were Ron Boehlke, Edward Boehlke III, Ross Nichols, Adam Boehlke, Eric Boehlke, and Eugene Boehlke Jr.
The Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted served the family.
