(Theodore) Dennis Elkins, 52, Cokato, died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2005, at Cokato Manor. He had a 25-year struggle with memory loss and seizures as a result of surgery while being treated for leukemia in 1980.
A memorial service is planned for March at Atlanta, Ga.
Theodore Dennis Elkins was born in Frankfurt, Germany, where his father served in the US Army. He grew up in San Francisco, Tokyo, Japan, and East Point, Ga. As an adult, he resided in Atlanta.
Following his declining health, he moved to Ithaca, N.Y., to be near his mother and sister. He then came to Cokato.
The quality of Dennis’ life was enhanced by the excellent care, friendship and affection he received from the staff of Cokato Manor.
Survivors include his sister, Phyllis Moen (Dick Shore) of Minneapolis, and aunts, Jerry Elkins of Jacksonville, Fla., Peggy Whitley and Myrna Evens, both of Griffin, Ga.; and a niece, Deborah Moen (James Frickstad) of Cokato
