Ethel Pauline Lundeen obituary, 1/31/05


Ethel Pauline Lundeen, age 93 of Cokato, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2005 at the Cokato Manor.
She was born Oct. 18, 1911 in Cokato to Alfred and Mathilda (Person) Fristedt. She attended Henderson Country School and graduated from Cokato High School.
Following high school, Ethel worked in Minneapolis for a few years.
In October of 1937, she married Wallace Beier. They lived on the home farm for a few years, and then moved to the Beier family farm in Howard Lake. While living there, they were members of St. James Lutheran Church.
In 1971, Ethel and Wallace moved to Darwin. Wallace passed away in 1978.
Ethel moved to Cokato in 1980, and married Clarence Lundeen in 1983. The couple enjoyed spending many winters in Arizona.
After selling their home, they lived a short time in Dassel, and then returned to Cokato. During this time, they worshipped at Albion Evangelical Free Church.
Clarence and Ethel lived at Brookridge in Cokato, until Ethel’s health necessistated a move to the Cokato Manor.
Ethel is survived by her husband, Clarence; stepchildren Ralph (Margaret) Lundeen, Betty (Elroy) Dahlin, and Kathryn (Sydney) Stenberg; stepgrandchildren; great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ethel in death were her parents; her first husband, Wallace; nine brothers and sisters; and a stepson, Ken Lundeen.
Funeral services were conducted Friday, Feb. 4 at 2 p.m. at Albion Evangelical Free Church with the Rev. Daniel Runke officiating. Music was provided by Vicky Neighbors, Becky and Alisha Bravinder, and Kurt Dahlin. Interment followed at St. James Cemetery on Dutch Lake.
Casket bearers were Jerry Flentje, Bruce Hamilton, Steve Stenberg, Randy Lundeen, Kurt Dahlin, and Tom Stenberg.
Visitation was Friday, from noon to 2 p.m. at the church.
The Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato handled the arrangements.
