Wille R. Tuvey Obituary – 12/14/08


Wille R. Tuvey, age 100, of Watertown, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

She was born July 16, 1908, in Waconia Twp., the daughter of Fred and Mary (Schlechter) Radde.

Wille attended Waconia Public School, graduating in 1924. She attended college in St. Louis, worked for Waconia Sorghum Co., the Minnesota State Legislature, Minnesota Banking Commission, and the Office of Minnesota Secretary of State.

Wille was united in marriage to J. Elliott Tuvey July 2, 1939, in Northwood, Iowa.

She moved to Watertown in 1946, where she began working at the Meat Market, which was owned by Wille and her husband, and then by their son, Nels. She continued working in the business until its closing in September of 2008.

Wille loved to golf, but her real passion was bowling – she was active in leagues into her 80s.

She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the American Legion Auxiliary, the Watertown Hospital Auxiliary, the volunteer fire department auxiliary, and the Trinity Lutheran Women’s Circle.

Wille was preceded in death by her husband, J. Elliott Tuvey; parents Fred and Mary Radde; brothers Joe Pofahl, Ray, Skip, Pertz, Harvey, Stan and Gordon Radde; and sisters Edde Radde, Eleanor Dallmann, Marie Honebrink, Cora Radde, Ole Selmer, and Sally Krcil.

She is survived by her loving family: children and spouses, George and Joann Tuvey of Janesville, Jeanne Tuvey of Minneapolis, and Nelson and Debbie Tuvey of Watertown; grandchildren John and Mary Tuvey, Sara Tuvey, Jodi and Rich Hill, and David and Stacey Quinn; and great-grandchildren Charlie and Emily Hill, Mariah, Elliott, Amanda and Rebecca Tuvey, and Dominic and Anna Quinn.

Wille is further survived by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Lona Radde of Waconia, Helen Radde of Waconia, Jeanne Nelson of St. Croix Falls, Betty and Dick Ogren of Sun City, AZ, and Anne Radde of Mound; nieces; nephews; and other relatives and friends.

A memorial service took place Friday, Dec. 19 at noon at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown with the Rev. Beth Johnson officiating. Visitation preceded the service beginning at 10 am. Interment was at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
