Kathryn A. Larson Obituary – 7/19/09


Kathryn Ann (Mueller) Larson, age 59, of Howard Lake, died Sunday, July 19, 2009.

She was born Sept. 20, 1949, in Madison, MN to Alice and Charles Mueller. Kathryn resided there until 1962, when she moved with her family to Edina.

In 1967, she graduated from Hopkins High School.

Kathryn married Gary Allen Larson Dec. 7, 1968. They made their first home in Minneapolis, and, in 1969, their first child, a daughter, arrived, Tiffany Anne.

The family moved to Waverly, and in 1973, a second child, a son, James-G Allen was born.

In July of 1977, the family relocated to Garrison, ND. In 1987, Kathryn and Gary were blessed with a third child, a son, Curtis S. Loe Allen.

The family moved back to Minnesota in 1991, and settled on a small hobby farm outside of Howard Lake.

In 1993, Kathryn started working for the Howard Lake-Waverly-Winsted School District as a paraprofessional. She enjoyed working with students, and also spent many years at the Holy Trinity School in Winsted.

In her spare time, Kathryn enjoyed reading, baking, travel, and sitting on the deck visiting with her family and friends. She also enjoyed quiet times, and loved to listen to the wind and watch the leaves. Kathryn‘s greatest joy were her three grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Gary A. Larson of Howard Lake; children Tiffany A. L. Sipe of Litchfield, James-G. A. Larson and wife Jodi of Maple Grove, and Curtis S. Loe A. Larson of Howard Lake; grandchildren DakotaAnne K. M. Sipe, and Nicholas and Grace Larson; and an uncle, Hollis and Bernice Loe of New Ulm.

Funeral services took place Saturday, July 25 at 10 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake with the Rev. Joel Swedberg officiating. Music was provided by Dawn Kalvig.

Honorary bearers were Kathryn’s grandchildren: Nicholas A. Larson, Grace A. Larson, and DakotaAnne K. M. Sipe.

Arrangements were by the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Howard Lake.
