John E. Noyed Obituary – 4/26/09


John E. Noyed, age 74, of Cokato, passed away suddenly Sunday, April 26, 2009, at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.

He was born Sept. 11, 1934, to Normel and Myrtle Noyed in Cokato.

John attended Beaver Dam School, which was located on the site of the Dassel-Cokato High School. He also attended Cokato High School and graduated in 1952.

He served in the US Army from 1954 to 1957, and received an honorable discharge.

Upon finishing active duty, he worked for Harkman Brothers Oil in Cokato and farmed with his father. He worked for the Harkman Brothers until the late 1970s, when he left to farm full-time on the farm he and his father owned west of Cokato. He farmed until 2008, when he then began renting his land.

John was married to Audrey Johnson April 27, 1957. They resided near Cokato for 52 years.

John was baptized and confirmed at Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a life-time member.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Normel and Myrtle Noyed.

John is survived by his wife, Audrey; three children, Bev (Brad) Bipes of Litchfield; Patti Albrecht (Dale Paulson) of St. Louis Park; and Bob (Susan Brott) Noyed of Woodbury; five grandchildren, Kyle and Emily Noyed, and Andy (Tiffany Jensrud), Adam and Alex Bipes; one great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Ann Bipes; a sister, Delores (Laverne) Johnson of Edina; and many other family members.

The funeral service took place Friday, May 1 at Cokato Evangelical Lutheran Church with the Rev. Steve Thorson officiating. Interment was in the Cokato Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation was Thursday, April 30 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato, and continued Friday for one hour prior to the funeral service at the church.

Casket bearers were Scott Anderson, Garland Buttenhoff, Carl Holm, Scott Johnson, Gary Redmann, and Dave Steffenson.

Arrangements were by Swanson-Peterson Funeral Home in Cokato.
