Clifford O. Hendrickson Obituary – 4/3/2010


Clifford O. Hendrickson, age 79, of Dassel, died Saturday, April 3, 2010, at the Lakeside Health Care Center of Dassel.

He was born March 6, 1922, in Dassel, the son of Karilius and Ida Hendrickson. Clifford was baptized and later confirmed at the First Lutheran Church (Gethsemane Lutheran Church) in Dassel.

He grew up in the Dassel area, and graduated from Dassel High School in 1941.

Clifford lived on the farm, northwest of Dassel, for many years.

He served in the Army Air Force as a clerk typist during the Air Offensive of Europe, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Adrennes, and Central Europe during World War II.

Shortly after, Clifford moved to Cokato and worked as a DHIA milk tester for 28 years in the Wright County area, where he resided until he moved back to Dassel and the family farm following the death of his brother, Ingwald.

He is survived by his five nieces; one nephew; and several other family and friends.

In addition to his brother, Ingwald, Clifford was preceded in death by his parents; two other brothers, Wilton, and Gerhard; and two sisters, Ellen and Violet.

The funeral service took place Friday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with visitation for one hour prior to the service at the church. The Rev. John Peterson officiated at the service, and interment was at the Dassel Cemetery.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel handled the arrangements.
