Dorothy Bloomquist Obituary – 12/25/2011


Dorothy L. Bloomquist, age 86, of Maple Plain, went home to be with the Lord on Christmas Day.

She was born in Dassel.

Dorothy worked as a registered nurse for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry A. Bloomquist.

Dorothy is survived by five sons: Harvey (Liane) of Moorhead, Howard (Karin) of Pine City, Herbert (Debra) of Motley, Hadley (Christine) of Pine City, and Harmon (Lora) of Maple Plain; grandchildren Victoria Bloomquist, Pamela Bloomquist-Burman, Krista Rose, Bryanna Clementson, Brock Bloomquist, Nicole Bloomquist, Kelsey Capistrant, Anna Bloomquist, Josiah Bloomquist, Grace Bloomquist, and Isaac Bloomquist; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Marie Johnson; nieces; nephews; and other family and friends.

The funeral service took place Friday, Dec. 30 at 11 a.m. at Prairie Hill Evangelical Free Church in Eden Prairie, with private interment at Dawn Valley Cemetery in Bloomington.

Visitation was Thursday, Dec. 29 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Albin Chapel in Eden Prairie.

Memorials are preferred to Camp Shamineau, www.shamineau.org; Prairie Hill Ev. Free Church, www.phefc.org; First Ev. Free Church of Mpls., www.firstfreechurch.org; or Evangelical Free Church of America, www.efca.org.

Arrangements were by the Albin Chapel, Eden Prairie.
