Linda L. Estenson Obituary – 3/20/2011


Linda Leah Estenson, age 41, of Litchfield, died Thursday, July 28, 2011, at her home.

She was born Sept. 15, 1969, in Litchfield, the daughter of Philip and Delphine (Schwintek) Olson. Linda was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Catholic Church in Darwin.

She grew up in the Dassel area and graduated from the Dassel-Cokato High School in 1988.

Linda was united in marriage to Steve Bolster in 1991, at Saint Anastasia Catholic Church in Hutchinson. Together with their son, Derek, they made their home in Hutchinson, and later Dassel.

In September 2005, Linda met Jerry Estenson; they moved to Rogers. Linda and Jerry were united in marriage March 24, 2008, in Las Vegas, NV. They made their home in Maple Lake, and recently moved to Litchfield.

Linda had been employed for 10 years at HTI (Hutchinson Technology Inc.) as an administrative assistant, and for the past 11 years she was employed by Paisley-Thompson Reuters in Plymouth, holding many leadership positions.

She was a member of the Minnesota Quarter Horse Association, American Paint Horse Association, Palomino Horse Breeders of America, Western Saddle Club Association(WSCA), Waska Riders Saddle Club, and Little Crow Riders Saddle Club.

Linda was a warm, loving, and caring person. This was seen even in her time of need. She was always making sure others were okay and had what they needed.

Since she was a little girl, Linda’s love for animals, especially horses, was evident. She gave every animal she had world class care and love. This was also true in her relationships with friends and family.

Linda had a magnetic personality, with a laugh that always left a smile on your face and warmth in your heart. Her She enjoyed life, and spending time with her family and friends.

Linda is survived by her husband, Jerry Estenson of Litchfield; son Derek Bolster (special friend Kaloni) of Dassel; mother Delphine Olson of St. Joseph; father Philip Olson of Dassel; sister, Rosanne (Eric) Peterson and their children, Kaisa and Leif, of Annandale; mother-in-law and father-in-law Joan and Cal Estenson of Warwick, ND; sister-in-law Lori (CJ) Quam and their children, Ashley and Tyler, of Tolna, ND; best friends, Kendra Telecky of Hutchinson, and Steve Bolster of Dassel; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents.

A memorial service took place Monday, Aug. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel with the Rev. Steven Olson officiating. Interment will be at the Warwick Cemetery in Warwick, ND.

There was a time to gather with family Sunday, July 31 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Dassel; and a one-hour visitation prior to the service Monday at the church.

The Johnson Funeral Home of Dassel handled the memorial arrangements.
