Roderick ‘Bob’ Laxen Obituary – 9/27/2011


Roderick “Bob” Laxen, age 80, of Tampa, FL, formerly of Winsted, died Sept. 27, 2011, at Volusia/Flagler Hospice in Orange City, FL.

He was born in Winsted.

Bob moved to MacDill Air Force Base in 1956, where he worked as an electrician for TECO until his retirement in 1990.

He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War.

Bob was a member of Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church for 55 years.

One of his favorite things to do was to watch the Bucs with his favorite nephew, Patrick.

Bob was preceded in death by his loving wife, Patricia.

He is survived by a son, John Laxen (wife Mary) of Houston, TX; daughter Debra Wright (husband Tim) of Deltona, FL; grandchildren Cory Laxen, and Shane Laxen, both of Houston, TX; great-grandchildren Brayden Laxen, and Bailey Laxen, both of Houston, TX; sisters Mary Ann Laxen of East Grand Forks, Judy Laxen of Mill Valley, CA, and Janice Mortenson of San Francisco, CA; brother Jack Laxen of St. Charles, MO; and many nieces, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews.

Bob was a devoted husband and father, and his contagious laugh and wonderful sense of humor will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
