Ronnie L. Novotny Obituary – 10/21/2013


Ronnie Lee Novotny, age 66, of Watertown, passed away Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at his home.

He was born March 21, 1947, in Hutchinson, the son of Joseph F. and Ardell (Hackbarth) Novotny.

Ronnie graduated from the Hutchinson High School.

He was employed as a cement mason for most of his career with the R.C. Dahlstrom Construction Company. Most recently, Ronnie had worked for Bob’s Repair in Mayer.

Ronnie was united in marriage Dec. 27, 2011, with Pamela L. Albright. The couple has made their home in rural Watertown.

Ronnie enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and cutting wood. He took great pride in his vehicles, and he was looking forward to retiring to their new property in Pillager.

Ronnie was a former guitar player for the Lester Schuft Band.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Novotny.

Ronnie is survived by his loving family: wife Pam Novotny of Watertown; children Jayson Novotny (special friend Kelly Winger) of Clearwater, Shannon Novotny (wife Terri) of Lester Prairie, Jonathon Novotny (wife Katie) of Annandale, and Tyler Novotny (special friend Clint Burge) of Silver Lake; and grandchildren Colton Novotny, Cooper Novotny, Ella Novotny, Joseph Novotny, Andrew Novotny, Shane Burge, and Bryce Burge.

He is further survived by his mother, Ardell Novotny of Hutchinson; sister Nancy Litchfield (husband Ken) of Illinois; stepchildren Ronald Bowers, Matthew Bowers (special friend Christine Beckmann), both of Norwood Young America, and Benjamin Bowers (wife Brooke) of Waconia; step-grandchildren Logan Bowers, and Brayden Bowers; as well as nieces, nephews, and other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service took place Friday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. at the Freshwater Community Church in St. Bonifacius, with the Rev. John Braland as officiant. There was a gathering of family and friends from 4 p.m. until the time of the service at the church.
