David J. Reuter Obituary – 9/13/2014


David John Reuter, age 69, of Watertown, passed away Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will take place Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Watertown. There will be a gathering of family and friends in the church from 9 to 10:30 a.m., prior to the Mass. Inurnment with military honors will be at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis, Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 2 p.m.

Arrangements are with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.

David was born May 31, 1945, in Alexandria, to Jack and Irene Reuter.

He was a graduate of Jefferson High School, and attended Willmar Community College and St. Cloud State University, studying drama.

David was drafted into the Army Jan. 4, 1967, achieved the rank of sergeant, and was honorably discharged in December of 1968.

David was very helpful, sociable, and loved his grandchildren.

He owned and operated Dave’s Upholstery, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In later years, he developed a passion for fishing.

David was preceded in death by his father, Jack Reuter; and mother and stepfather, Irene and Herb Thomas.

He is survived by his wife, Wendy Reuter; daughters Melissa Reuter, and Hanni (John) Pulley; four grandchildren: Scott, Leah, Jackson, and Titus; a brother, Harold Reuter; and a sister, Joann (Darrell) Meyer; as well as nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends.
