Frank was born Sept. 14, 1933, in Minneapolis, to Marvin and Erna (Hermann) Schwerin.

He grew up on a farm in the Montrose area, graduated from Delano High School in 1951, and attended Dunwoody Institute.

Frank enlisted in the US Navy and served during the Korean War. He was honorably discharged January 1957, with a rank of IC1.

Frank was united in marriage to Joanne Henkel June 25, 1960, in Giese, MN.

He worked for Western Electric, Nortronics, and retired from T.L. Systems.

Frank was a woodworker par excellence and an avid fisherman.

He was an active, faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Hope.

A key element of his retirement was his desire to find shipmates on the Internet, inviting them to attend and be a part of reunions for the USS Robinson DD-562 and the USS Sierra AD-18 over the years.

Frank was preceded in death by his parents; and son Paul.

He is survived by his wife, Joanne; and daughters Jeri Schwerin and Carolyn (Jay) Luehmann.
