Donna Magnan Obituary – 4/5/2015


Donna Magnan, 65, of Delano, died Sunday, April 5, 2015, after fighting a courageous 4.5-year battle with cancer.

Given her strong faith, Donna fought until the end so she could go to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday. Her final days were spent surrounded by her husband, children, and grandchildren.

Donna was born March 25, 1950, in Fargo, ND, to Dale and Dalene Nudell.

She married Milo Magnan July 5, 1969.

Donna was a longtime resident of Delano, where she had lived since 1981. She loved to plant flowers and spend time at her family cabin.

An active church member, Donna participated in and lead several Bible studies, and was a member of the Red Hat Group.

Her other love was teaching piano. She started with just a few students, and through the years had grown to 50 to 70 students each year. Each of these students became a loved part of her family. 

Donna is survived by her husband, Milo; children, Cindy (Mike) Jensen, Chad Magnan, and Christie (Jason) Eckstrom; grandchildren Brandon and Katie Oswald, Nathan Jensen, and Mackenzie and Madeline Magnan; a sister, Carla (Jan) Medbery; a brother, Dave (Cindy) Nudell; and many nieces and nephews.

Donna’s father, Dale Nudell, mother Dalene Trende, and sister Kathleen Schaunaman preceded her in death.

Funeral services took place Saturday, April 11 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. with the Rev. Paul Marggraf officiating.

Visitation was Friday, April 10 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service; and continued Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Arrangements were by Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
