Marion Muckenhirn Obituary – 11/15/2015


Marion H. Muckenhirn, age 92, of Delano, passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Cottagewood Senior Living in Buffalo.

She was born March 15, 1923, in Buffalo, to Fred and Ellen (LaPlant) Otten.

Marion was a loving wife, mom, and grandma. She enjoyed spending time with her family, growing her flower garden, her homemakers group, and working in catering.

She was a member of the Delano American Legion Auxiliary, and a volunteer at the Delano Catholic Community Church.

Marion was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray; siblings Leo (Adeline) Otten, Ed (Bernice) Otten, Emily (Oscar) Gilles, Leonard (Adelaide) Otten, Bert (Betty) Otten, Joe (Dee) Otten, Adeline (Ambrose) Dalbec, Bob Otten, Dick (Marlowe) Otten, and Bernard Otten; sister-in-law Marie Otten; and brother-in-law Clem Muckenhirn.

She is survived by her sons, Dennis, Gary (Linda), and Joe (Joan); grandsons John, Daniel, and David; brothers Fritz Otten, and Jim (Jan) Otten; sister Rose Muckenhirn; sisters-in-law Rita Otten, and Jeanette Otten; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Nov. 18 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Delano. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, Delano.

There was visitation Tuesday, Nov. 17 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Martha’s Hall of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, with a 3:30 p.m. Rosary service. Visitation continued Wednesday from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., prior to Mass, also at Martha’s Hall.

Arrangements were by the Iten Funeral Home, Delano.
