Steve E. Olson Obituary – 3/9/2015


Steve Edward Olson, age 47, of Waconia, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015, at his home in Waconia.

A memorial service will take place Tuesday March 17 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia with the Rev. Anders Davidson officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery in Waconia.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Waconia is handling the arrangements.

Steve was born Oct. 11, 1967, in The Pas, Manitoba, Canada, the son of Richard and Evangeline (Speigner) Olson. He was baptized Oct. 23, 1970, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, and confirmed in his faith May 30, 1982, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Winsted.

Steve graduated from the St. John’s Lutheran High School in Winsted. He had worked for Litfin Lumber and Sterns Wood, prior to beginning his career in food service.

Steve studied at Le Cordon Bleu in Minneapolis. He had worked at Nightengale, Crown College and Mound Westonka School District.

Steve enjoyed working with wood and attending tractor pulls. He was a very talented piano player.

He cherished the time spent with family and friends.

Steve was preceded in death by his mother, Evangeline Olson

Steve is survived by his loving family; father Dick (Carol) Olson of Hutchinson; siblings Marilynn (David) Unze of Minnetonka, Sandy (Mark) Hilborn of Lakeville, Victoria Olson of Winnepeg, Marie Wooden, Millie Olson, both of St. Cloud, and Penny (Darrin) Dietzel of Cologne; special friend Delores Meuffels of Waconia; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
