Gerald Jablinski Obituary – 8/2/2016


Gerald “Gerry” Jablinski, age 85, of Chaska, formerly of Waconia, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2016, at Auburn Manor in Chaska.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, Aug. 19 at 5 p.m. at Chanhassen American Legion Post 580.

Gerry was born Jan. 26, 1931, in Grand Rapids, MI. He and his older sister, Mary Louise, were adopted by John and Effie (Pope) Jablinski of Petoskey, MI.

Gerry served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, then attended college in San Diego, CA, where he graduated with an electrical engineering degree.

He was the co-founder and vice president of HEI, Inc. in Victoria.

Gerry was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Waconia, and a member of the Chanhassen American Legion Post 580.

He enjoyed fishing, being around people, and being a resort owner at Tamarac Bay Campgrounds on Lake Miltona.

A wonderful father, husband, and friend, Gerry will be missed. His spirit lives on in all who knew him.

He is survived by his children, Joseph Flannery and his wife, Catherine Ploetz, of New Hope; Julie Timmers and her husband, Allen, of Chaska; Mary Pat Jablinski of Young America; and John Jablinski of Cambridge.

Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister.
