Audrey Mae Robinson Obituary – 5/31/2016


Audrey Mae Robinson was born Feb. 22, 1951, at Sleepy Eye, MN, to Orlando and Marilyn (Brethorst) Nazarenus.

She was baptized at the Methodist church of Sleepy Eye. Audrey spent her childhood in International Falls, MN. She said “it was always cold there”. She worked for a time at a restaurant in Ft. Francis, Ontario; right across the river from International Falls. After completing grade 7 there, she was sent to Minneapolis to a school for the hearing impaired.

She met Melvin Robinson at a wedding dance in Waverly where he was taking tickets. They were married April 11, 1981. They lived in Cokato.

Audrey worked at Tonka Toys, Cokato Manor, Howard Lake Good Samaritan Home and St Mary’s Care Center of Winsted. She loved to work.

Audrey’s hobbies included cooking and baking, gardening, canning, dancing, and ice skating. Most of all she enjoyed friends and family and entertaining them. She was a member of the VFW in Hutchinson.

Audrey passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 31, 2016. She had reached the age of 65 years, 3 months and 9 days.

Survivors include: her husband Melvin; of Cokato, son; Crist (Bobbi Jo) of Cokato. and sisters, Brenda Wood and Becky Nazarenus.

Audrey is preceded in death by her parents Orlando and Marilyn and brother Charles.

A memorial service is planned for Saturday, June 11, 2016 at First Presbyterian Church of Howard Lake.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.

Interment will be at Howard Lake Cemetery.
