Samantha Ahlgren, 23

Samantha Jo Ahlgren, age 23, of Darwin, died at home, Saturday, Sept. 23, 2017.

A Celebration of Life will take place Friday, Sept. 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Church of Christ in Dassel, with Pastor Chris Halstead officiating. A time to gather with the family will take place one hour prior to the service.

A time to gather with family also took place Thursday, Sept. 28 from 6 to 8 p.m.

Samantha Jo Ahlgren, daughter of Galen and Susan (Field) Ahlgren, was born Jan. 29, 1994, in Hutchinson.

She lived on the family farm in Darwin her entire life. She attended Cokato Elementary School, and graduated from Dassel-Cokato High School in 2014.

Samantha was dedicated to Christ as an infant and was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ in Dassel.

She enjoyed time with family and friends and was loved by all. One of her nicknames was Miss Sparkles. Her laughter and smile would light up a room.

She enjoyed the outdoors, all kinds of music, and water activities. Swimming in the pool or the ocean and putting her toes in the sand at the beach were some of her favorite things.

Samantha was well traveled. She visited many destinations in the United States and Mexico. She was able to swim in the Gulf of Mexico, the Caribbean, and both the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Samantha is survived by her parents, Galen and Susan Ahlgren of Darwin; siblings, Benjamin (Kayla) Ahlgren of Fairhaven, Charles Ahlgren of Darwin; and one nephew, Colton Ahlgren. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Stanley and Lucille Ahlgren, and maternal grandparents, Marvin and Marion Field.

The Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel is in charge of the memorial arrangements.
