Thomas Edward Bakeberg, age 71, of Howard Lake, passed away suddenly Monday, April 17, 2017, at his home.
He was born Sept. 7, 1945, in Cokato, to Roy and Alice (Hess) Bakeberg.
Tom was baptized and confirmed at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, and graduated in 1964 from Howard Lake High School.
He was united in marriage to Linda May 12, 1979, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.
Tom drove truck for many years, mostly for Tonka Toys. He later retired from Industrial Louvers in Delano.
Tom enjoyed spending time with his family at the cabin that he built. He also liked word finds, puzzles, and biking.
Tom would always find a good deal at a garage sale or antique store. He would never miss an opportunity to watch his grandchildren playing sports.
He is survived by his wife, Linda; daughter, Tamara (David) Johnson; son Steven (Sue) Bakeberg; grandchildren Jillian, Allysa, Jennifer, Nicholas, and Jacob; sisters Donna Boettcher, and Laverne Krohn; and brothers Bill (Sandy), Don (Char), and Roy (Linda) Bakeberg.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Alice; and brother in-law Orville Krohn.
A memorial service took place Saturday, April 22, at 2 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Howard Lake, with a gathering of family and friends beginning at noon at the church, prior to the service.
