Eugene A. Bayerl, age 70, of Lester Prairie passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at his residence.
He was born on October 15, 1946 in Glencoe the son of Alfred “Fritz” & Lucille Kaczmarek Bayerl.
Eugene graduated from Holy Trinity and later attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute receiving a diploma in Architectural Drawing and Estimating.
He honorably served his Country in the United States Navy from October 12, 1964 to October 12, 1967.
Eugene Bayerl was joined in marriage to Kathryn Branchaud on May 8, 1971 to January 1992. On August 4, 2001 he was joined in marriage to Elizabeth Nygaard.
Gene was store engineer designing grocery stores for Fairway Foods, and was formerly the proprietor of G & K Foods. He was an independent distributor for Schweigert and Minnesota Gold. Gene was a truck driver for K-Way Express.
Eugene enjoyed spending time with family and friends, cooking, reading, gardening, hunting.
Survived by wife: Elizabeth; children: Scott Bayerl and Brenda (Steve) Bethel; bonus children: Jason (Cylinda) Hagemeyer, Jenna Raschick, Jeremy Raschick and Jayme Raschick; grandchildren: Nolan, Calvin and Hudson Bethel, Cheya and Beckett Hagemeyer; siblings: MaryAnn (Paul) Zeik, Carolyn (Tom) Ondracek, Lois (Jerry) Mader, Nancy (Carl) Erickson and Jerome Bayerl; mother-in-law: Barbara Nygaard; brother-in-law: Brian Nygaard; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents Alfred “Fritz” Bayerl and Lucille Bayerl.
A visitation took place Tuesday, October 3, 2017 from 4-8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted.
A Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, October 4, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. Military rites followed the Mass. Father Paul Schumacher was the Celebrant.
Honorary Urn Bearers were Roger Fratzke, Jeff Mader, Jason Kolles, Roger Maresh and Paul Otto.
Urn Bearer was Jim Zeik.
