James A. Gonsior, age 82, of Delano, formerly of Maple Plain, passed away peacefully Friday, Dec. 1, 2017.
He was born Oct. 24, 1935, in Watertown, to John and Dorothy (Speckel) Gonsior.
Jim was married 49 years to Sharon (Hanseman). Jim and Sharon enjoyed traveling throughout the US in their motorhome, wintering in Sun City Center, FL and spending summers in Nisswa, MN. Snowmobiling as a family, and other family time were Jim’s passions.
Jim was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph Catholic Church.
He worked for and retired from Honeywell after 30-plus years.
Jim will be greatly missed by his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sharon, in 2004; grandson Brandon Dubay; and sister Susie (Tom) Redmond.
Jim is survived by his son, C.J. (Clarence) (Julie); his daughter, Clarice (Philip) Dubay; grandchildren Heather, Ryan (Courtney), and Stephanie (Daniel) Blau; great-grandchildren Gwenivere, Lillian and Abigail Blau, and Finley Gonsior; and a brother, Jerry (Zenda) Gonsior.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Delano. Interment was in the church cemetery.
There was visitation Wednesday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano. Visitation continued Thursday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, with a 9:30 a.m. KC rosary.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
