Inez M. Hahn, 95

Inez Martha Hahn, age 95, of Mayer, passed away Tuesday, June 20, 2017, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

Private family graveside service will take place at the Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Mayer.

Casket bearers are Leslie N. Hahn, Thomas M. Hahn, Jeffrey D. Hahn, Lesly A. Hahn, Blake E. Hahn, Isaac Hahn, Levi Hahn, and Ada Hahn.

Inez was born June 17, 1922, in Young America, the daughter of William and Louise (Guetzkow) Roepke Jr.

Inez was raised on a farm in Hollywood Township, Carver County. She had a strong work ethic which provided her with a long life of 95 years and 3 days.

Inez enjoyed music and dance. She got her first accordion at age 5, and played by ear, on and off through her life.

When she was a child, Inez had a white poodle named “Rex,” and a kidnapped and domesticated fox named “Shebbie.” He was a hit with all the kids around.

She was united in marriage to Marvin D. Hahn, of Mayer, May 22, 1941, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hollywood Township, New Germany.

She took on the task of raising four sons; Les, Tom, Steve, and Jeff, and a good job she did.

Inez was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin; son and daughter-in-law Stephen Mark and Lyn (Kuhlmann) Hahn; parents William A. and Louise W. Roepke Jr.; sister Gladys O. Luedke; and grandparents William and Ottilia (Lemke) Roepke, and William and Caroline (Henning) Guetzkow.

She is survived by her loving family: Leslie Noel and Charlotte A. (Stieve) Hahn, Thomas Michael Hahn, all of Mayer, and Jeffrey Donald Hahn of Watertown; grandchildren Lesly Ann Hahn, and Blake Everett (Jill) Hahn, all of Mayer; great-grandchildren Isaac Hahn, Levi Hahn, and Ada Hahn; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
