Arlys Krueger Obituary – 5/13/2017


Arlys Krueger, age 70, of Ogden, IA, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at her home.

She was born June 16, 1946, in Glencoe, the daughter of Edwin and Anna Marie (Freese) Oelke.

Arlys attended school in Lester Prairie.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Krueger July 2, 1966, in Lester Prairie.

In 1974, the couple moved to Ogden, IA, where Arlys was the owner and operator of Krueger’s Kitchen for many years.

Arlys loved her grandchildren and spending time with them. She also enjoyed playing cards and visiting the casinos.

She is survived by her husband, Virgil, of Ogden, IA; two sons, Mitchell (Kari) Krueger of Manson, IA, and Charles (Misty) Krueger of Ames, IA; one daughter, Stacy (Gary) Lewis of Boone, IA; eight grandchildren: Nathan, Becca, Chris, Josh, Ryan (Beth), Joe (Kelsey), Mackenzie, and Jake; and three great-grandchildren: Coldon, Logan and Chloey.

Arlys is further survived by a sister, Doris (Clarence) Kosek of Minnesota; a brother, Larry Oelke, also of Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Mavis Heimkes.
