Milo Magnan Obituary – 3/13/2017

Milo Magnan, age 69, of Delano, died unexpectedly Monday, March 13, 2017.

He was born May 6, 1947, in Brainerd, to Maurice and Alice (Kraklau) Magnan. Milo grew up on their family farm in the St. Mathias area.

Milo and Donna Magnan were united in holy matrimony July 5, 1969.

After graduating from Alexandria Technical College, where he met Donna, he started his career with Tonka Toys in 1969. Through the years, he also worked at Red Owl Corporation, McQuay Snyder General, and finished his career at Carlson Company until his retirement in 2011.

Milo enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his family cabin. He had a witty sense of humor and was generous to all.

He survived many misadventures and mishaps through the years to provide amusement for others. His talented brother, Valere wrote a book of short stories about his exciting exploits.

After surviving the odds for many years, which most wouldn’t have, God called him home as Donna, who preceded him in death, was missing him.

In addition to his wife, Milo was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice and Alice; and siblings Norma, Louis, Lucille and Valere.

He is survived by his children, Cindy (Mike) Jensen, Chad Magnan, and Christie (Jason) Eckstrom; grandchildren Brandon and Katie Oswald, Nathan Jensen, and Mackenzie and Madeline Magnan; a sister-in-law, Leatte Magnan; and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Friday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, followed by interment in the Mount Olive East Cemetery, Delano.

There was visitation Thursday, March 16 from 4 to 8 p.m. in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church, and continued Friday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the Mass.

Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home, Delano.
