James Bernard Nieman, age 56, of Delano, passed away peacefully Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.
He was born May 13, 1961, in Watertown, to Bernard and Rita (Pearson) Nieman.
James graduated from Delano High School in 1980.
He went on to work at Advance Machines for 25 years, and then became a custodian with the Delano and Orono schools.
James was an accomplished photographer. He enjoyed fixing and making things.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and of St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano.
Known for being generous, James was always ready to lend a helping hand.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Harry and Irma (Fietsam) Nieman, and Ed and Mary (Kunkel) Pearson.
James is survived by his parents, Bernie and Rita Nieman; sisters Brenda Nieman and Mike Potter, and Julie (Steve) Wagner; and nephew Chris Wagner.
Mass of Christian Burial took place Wednesday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, with visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in Martha’s Hall of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
