James Kevin Olsen, “Uncle Jim” and “Papa Jim,” age 66, of Monticello, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Centra Care Hospital in Monticello.
A memorial service will take place Saturday, July 15 at 2 p.m. at Word of Peace Lutheran Church in Rogers.

James was born April 21, 1951, in St. Paul, the son of Ivan E. and Alice L. (Reynolds) Olsen.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army, and was a proud member of the Minnesota Patriot Guard.
Jim was employed as a bartender at the Choo Choo Bar in Loretto. He was a well-loved bartender, who always cared about others and had a heart of gold.
Jim enjoyed Harley motorcycles, and loved riding with his biker brothers and sisters for charity runs. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and square dancing.
He is survived by his soulmate, Darlene Hunz; sisters and brothers: Beverly (Tom) Leckie-Scheirer, Douglas Olsen, Jeffery (Diane) Olsen, Beth (Clyde) Wachman, and Daniel (Jane) Olsen; nieces and nephews: Ian, Jennifer, Erin, Courtney, Ashley, Justin, Kelsey, Abby, Wes, Joe and Chloe; children Tiffany (Tristan), Elijah, Bethany and Brittany Caffey; and grandchildren: Addison, Dawson, Chanceler, Sabella, Samantha, and Jennifer.
He is further survived by Darlene’s family: Chad (Emily) Carlson and Jess (Dean) Skogen; other relatives and friends.
