Rosella E. Quast, 91

Rosella E. Quast, age 91, of Winsted, passed away Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

She was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Winsted Township, McLeod County, the daughter of Homer and Mary (Bugnon) Bebo.

Rosella and William J. Quast were joined in holy marriage Aug. 25, 1953, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted. God blessed their marriage with two children; Steven and Kathy.

Rosella enjoyed cooking, baking, farming, gardening, and mowing the lawn. She also was fond of traveling, visiting family, and her cat “Mugs.”

A lifelong, faithful member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, Rosella also belonged to St. Anne’s Society, Catholic Order of Foresters, and Winsted Legion Post 407’s Auxiliary.

She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Bogatzki of Hutchinson; a brother, Edward (Phil) Bebo; sisters-in-law and brother’s-in-law Theresa Hance, Joe (Irene) Quast, John (Mary) Quast, James (Sharon) Quast, Lorraine Quast, Mary Quast, and Patti Bebo; and many other relatives and friends.

Rosella was preceded in death by her husband, William J. “Bill” Quast June 9, 1997; a son, Steven “Woody” Quast in 2009; son-in-law Andy Bogatzki April 19, 2012; her parents; a sister, and Agnes Bebo in 1938; and brothers Francis Bebo in 1954, Jerome Bebo in 1985, Louis Bebo in 1986, Clarence Bebo in 1999 and Kenneth Bebo in 2016.

Mass of Christian Burial took place Thursday, Nov. 2 at 11 a.m., at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Winsted, with Father Paul Schumacher as the celebrant. Alice Nowak was the organist for the Mass, Ron Karels was the lector, and gift bearers were Sue Bebo and John Bebo. Interment followed at Holy Trinity Cemetery.

There was visitation Wednesday, Nov. 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Chilson Funeral Home in Winsted, with a rosary recited at 5 p.m., and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued Thursday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

Casket bearers were Stan Bebo, Tom Bebo, Doug Bebo, David Benz, Dale Hance, and Michael Hance.

In lieu of flowers, Masses or memorials are preferred.
