Loren Roepke Obituary – 2/19/2017


Loren Roepke, age 70, of Cokato, formerly of Glencoe, passed away Sunday, Feb. 19, 2017, at his home.

He was born Nov. 11, 1946, in Hutchinson. A life-long resident of Minnesota, he graduated from Hutchinson High School in 1965.

Loren married Karen Lee Reyo April 27, 1968.

Loren served in the US Army in the 452nd General Supply Company in 1968 and 1969.

After returning from Vietnam, he worked at the Eaton Corporation for 35 years.

He and Karen lived in Glencoe until 1984, when they moved north to Cokato.

Loren had a life-long love for antique cars – particularly his 1937 Ford grain truck. He enjoyed threshing bees, camping, and spending time with his dachshund, Bodsie.

He is survived by his wife, Karen; his brothers: Melvin, Virgil, and Glendon Roepke; his children: Debra Roepke, Robert Roepke, and Michele Roepke Skoog; and four grandchildren: Sophia and Charissa Nelson, and Emma and Greta Skoog.

A memorial service took place Thursday, Feb. 23 at 3 p.m. at the Cokato Manor, with visitation from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Fort Snelling National Cemetery Monday, Feb. 27, at 11:30 a.m.
