David Gerard Sabourin, age 49, of Loretto, passed away Friday, March 24, 2017, as the result of a tragic automobile accident.
David was a volunteer firefighter for the Hamel Fire Department for 13 years, the owner of Sabourin’s Wine & Liquor in Rockford, and a custodian at the Delano Public School District.
He was the kind of man that would give you the shirt off of his back. A kind, caring, loving, and giving person, David was admired by many. He adored his family and loved to hunt, fish, and take his kids water tubing; and enjoyed weekends at their cabin.
David was preceded in death by his father, Glynn Sabourin.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly; his loving children, Makenna (16), Isabella (14), Kaiden (12) and Tyler (24); his mother, Marge Sabourin; siblings Judy (Tim) Hoover, and Paul (Lisa) Sabourin; and by many in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
David’s funeral service took place Thursday, March 30 at 10 a.m. at Church of St. Anne in Hamel, followed by interment at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope.
Arrangements were with the Gearty-Delmore Funeral Home.
Memorials preferred to the family for an education fund for David’s four children.
