Paul J. Salonek, age 89, of Waverly, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017.
He was born in 1927, in rural Montrose, the oldest of five children born to Theodore and Theresa Salonek.
Paul was joined in Holy Matrimony to Elaine (Kittock) in 1948. They settled on a farm southwest of Waverly, and together, they raised eight children.
Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, camping, dancing, and working the farm. His biggest love was his family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine; brothers Theodore Jr., and Leo (Marge); and a sister, Donna (Don) Bloom.
Paul is survived by his children: Peggy Salonek, Nancy (Steve) Stotko, Linda (Bob) Artmann, Pat (Jessie) Salonek, Mike (Renee) Salonek, Becky (Rodney) Scherping, Scott (Tammy) Salonek, and Chris Salonek; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
He is further survived by a brother, Urban (Rose) Salonek of Springfield; sister, Anne (George) Lambrecht of Buffalo; sister-in-law Jean Salonek of Montrose; and brother-in-law Dennis Kittock and his wife, Helen, of Arlington.
Funeral services took place Saturday, March 4 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Waverly, followed by a private burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Waverly.
