Arnold Seefeldt, 83

Arnold Martin Seefeldt, age 83, of Lester Prairie, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2017, at his home.

He was born Jan. 18, 1934, at his home in Lester Prairie, the son of Edwin and Annie (Birkholz) Seefeldt. Arnold was baptized as an infant Jan. 28, 1934, by Pastor Eckert at his home; and was confirmed in his faith as a youth March 21, 1948, by the Rev. R. A. Ritz at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.

Arnold received his education at a country school in Lester Prairie.

He was united in marriage to Margaret Casey Jan. 23, 1957, at St. James Lutheran Church in Howard Lake.

Arnold and Margaret made their home in Lester Prairie. Their marriage was blessed with three children, Patsy, Tim, and Paul. They shared over 37 years of marriage, until Margaret passed away Feb. 27, 1994.

Arnold was a dairy farmer his whole life. He also worked at the cement factory in Lester Prairie for 37 years, and the creamery.

He was a lifelong member at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie.

As a farmer, Arnold enjoyed field work and cutting hay. He also enjoyed fishing on Sundays, polka music, and attending local town celebrations including their parades. He loved taking trips to the gas station, and visiting family with his golf cart. Arnold treasured the time spent with his family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Patsy Schauer and her husband, Steve, of Glencoe, Tim Seefeldt and his wife, Beth, and Paul Seefeldt, all of Lester Prairie; grandchildren Mike (Kim) Schauer, Mandy (Jason) Lyons, Billy (Crystal) Schauer, Joey (Jen) Schauer, Adam Seefeldt, Amy (fiancé, Mike King) Seefeldt, Alyssa (Lance) Mclay, and Ashley (fiancé, Adam Melhop) Seefeldt; and great-grandchildren Trever, Cory, Jake, Mikey, Abby, Kayle, Wyatt, Jack, Lucas, Johnny, Andrew, Aaron, Alex, Annabelle, Heidi, and Austin.

He is further survived by a sister, Elsie Gilster and her friend, Al, of Lester Prairie; sisters-in-law JoAnn Casey and Gladys Casey; brother-in-law Tom Casey; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

In addition to his wife, Margaret, Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Annie Seefeldt; great-granddaughter, baby girl Lyons; brother Ervin Seefeldt and his wife, Harriet; brothers-in-law Carl Gilster, Pat Casey, Mike Casey, and Joe Casey; and sisters-in-law Mary Klugow and her husband, Don, Betty Krienke and her husband, Herbert, and Hazel Casey.

Funeral services took place Tuesday, Oct. 17 at 2 p.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, with the Rev. Eric Nelson officiating. The organist was Jane Holasek, and congregational hymns were “What A Friend We Have In Jesus,” “I’m But A Stranger Here,” and “Jesus Loves Me.” Interment followed at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery in Lester Prairie. Casket bearers were Mike Schauer, Billy Schauer, Joey Schauer, Adam Seefeldt, Jason Lyons, and Lance Mclay.
