David O. Steffenson Obituary – 5/14/2017


David O. Steffenson, age 66, of Watertown, passed away Sunday, May 14, 2017, at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born June 21, 1950, in Eau Claire, WI, to Sydney and Agnes (Stevens) Steffenson.

David was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.

He was happily united in marriage to Mary in 1989.

David’s hobbies were focused on spending time with his grandchildren and children. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, fishing, watching old western movies, and flying.

He and Mary loved to travel and spend time together.

David also loved working with his brother, Sherman; they worked together at Hollywood Tire throughout his life.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Sydney and Agnes Steffenson; as well as an infant brother.

He is survived by his wife, Mary; children Tammy (Charlie) Loncorich, and Lonny Janning; grandchildren Brittany (Seth) Baldry, Brooke Loncorich, Taylor Janning, and Nathan Janning; great-grandchildren Kaylee and Kayden Loncorich; siblings Sherman (Val) Steffenson, Raymond (Diane) Steffenson, and Ruth (Phil) Cowden; Dixie Schmakel; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Memorial services took place Friday, May 19 at 11 a.m. at the Watertown Evangelical Free Church. There was a gathering of family and friends in the church from 9 to 11 a.m., prior to the services.

Arrangements were with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
