James Henry Stello, age 68, of Watertown, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2017, at the Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.
A memorial service will take place Friday, Nov. 10 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Watertown. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church, prior to the service. Inurnment with military honors will take place at a later date in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Arrangements are with the Iten’s Watertown Funeral Home.
James was born Nov. 16, 1948, in Ladysmith, WI, to George and Florence (Mikkelson) Stello.
He proudly served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
Jim was united in marriage to Nancy Berry Nov. 27, 1985, in Newport, MN.
A loyal and a very hard worker, Jim loved spending time with his grandsons, even watching cartoons. He would do anything for his children.
Jim loved music, especially Elvis and music from the ‘50s. He faithfully watched professional wrestling every week. Jim’s favorites were Pepsi, Snickers and M&Ms.
He was a member of the American Legion.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Judy Weiland, and Patti (Bob) Melko; and a brother, David.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy; children Linda, Christina, Ryan, and Justin (Gabe); grandsons Andrew, Aaron, Weston, Aiden, and Abel; sisters Nancy (Jim) Swezey, and Carol (Jim) Michon; brother-in-law Kenny Weiland; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
