Kenneth Ralph Swanson, age 93, of rural Waverly, passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Grangroth Riverside Comfort of Waverly, from cancer.
He was born in Marysville Township Sept. 27, 1923, to Alfred and Daisy (Jewett) Swanson. Kenneth had five brothers and four sisters.
Kenneth was a quiet man, but enjoyed going to Waverly for coffee with his brothers, going to the casino, listening to music being played by hospice, and watching birds. He also enjoyed the great outdoors!
He is survived by his brothers, Harold Swanson and LeRoy (Selma) Swanson; nephews Jerry and Joyce Erickson, Merlin and Ruth Swanson, John and Stephanie Swanson, and Randy and Barb Swanson; nieces Sandra Christensen, Lori Swanson, Nancy and Galan Peterson, and Linda and Barry Brobeck; and other relatives and friends.
Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents; sisters Grace Erickson, Doris Stumpf, Laurella Vieau, and Ruby Stumpf and their spouses; and brothers Vernie Swanson, Marvin Swanson, and Alvin Swanson.
The funeral service took place Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 2 p.m. at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo, with Pastor Dave Hormann officiating. There was visitation one hour prior to the service.
Casket bearers were Gerald Erickson, John Swanson, Mike Kaczmarek, Ronnie Grangroth, Pat Decker, and Neil Christensen.
