Marilyn Elouise Swanson, age 91, of Maple Plain, formerly of Minneapolis, died Thursday, March 30, 2017, at the Haven Home in Maple Plain.
Her funeral service will take place Saturday, April 8 at ll a.m. at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Dassel with the Rev. Keith Carlson officiating, followed by interment at the Dassel Community Cemetery. There will be a one-hour visitation prior to the service at the church.
Memorials preferred to the Dassel Covenant Church.
Arrangements are with the Johnson Funeral Home in Dassel.
Marilyn was born April 13, 1925, in Dassel, to Robert and Anna (Edlund) Swanson; and baptized and confirmed at the Dassel Covenant Church.
She graduated from Dassel High School in 1943 as valedictorian, and earned her degree from North Park College in Chicago.
Marilyn had a 41-year career with Land O Lakes in Minneapolis, during which time she traveled extensively around the world with her cousins and other family members.
She had a deep faith in the Lord, was very generous to her family, and will be missed by all.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Edmund Swanson; sister- in- law Ruth (Bengtson) Swanson; a sister, Annette Nieling; two grand nieces; and one great grandnephew.
She is survived by several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
