Mildred A. Ganzel Obituary – 7/1/2018


Mildred Ann Ganzel, age 93, of Maple Plain, died peacefully Sunday, July 1 2018, at Ridgeview Medical Center in Waconia.

Millie, her brothers and sisters grew up in Jesse Lake, MN.

Millie moved to St. Paul after high school and worked for Northwest Airlines for five years.

While living in St. Paul, she married Theodore Ganzel. She and Ted raised five children.

Mildred received her licensed practical nursing degree from Hennepin Technical College in 1971. She worked at Long Lake Nursing Home for 13 years.

Millie served on her church’s mission board for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted; parents John and Agda; sisters Jane, Margit Brandt, Elsie Erickson, and Elvie Anderson; brothers Paul, and Theodore; grandchild Reid Allmaras; and great-grandchild Max Ganzel.

Millie is survived by her children; Rich (Rosie) Ganzel, Harvey (Gretchen) Ganzel, John Ganzel, Ginny (Mike) Strole, and Dwayne (Nancy) Ganzel; grandchildren; and great-grandchildren.

A memorial service took place Thursday, July 5 at 11 a.m. at Maple Plain Community Church in Maple Plain. There was a gathering of family and friends from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service.

Memorial donations may be made to Maple Plain Community Church Missions.

Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.
