Carol M. Heldt, 75

Carol Mae Heldt, age 75, of Norwood Young America, wife of Dennis Heldt, died Monday, Aug. 6, 2018, at St. Mary’s Care Center in Winsted.

Her funeral service will be Saturday, Aug. 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, followed by interment at the church cemetery.

There will be visitation Friday, Aug. 10 at the church from 4 to 8 p.m., continuing Saturday, one hour prior to the services.

Arrangements are with the Paul-McBride Funeral Chapel of Lester Prairie.

Carol Mae (Stuedemann) Heldt was born Feb. 27, 1943, in Glencoe, the daughter of Albert and Lillian (Dierfeldt) Stuedemann. She was baptized as an infant May 21, 1943, by the Rev. H.H. Schaller; and was confirmed in her faith May 26, 1957, by the Rev. Karl Plocher, both at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe. Her confirmation verse was Psalm 111:10.

Carol received her education in Glencoe, graduating with the Glencoe High School class of 1961.

She was united in marriage to Dennis Theodore Heldt Aug. 24, 1961, by the Rev. Karl Plocher at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Helen Township, Glencoe. Carol and Dennis made their home in rural Norwood Young America, and their marriage was blessed with two children, Cindy and Darvin. Carol and Dennis shared almost 57 years of marriage.

In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Carol worked at Medallion Kitchen in production until retiring in 2007.

She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lester Prairie, where she served on the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

Carol enjoyed embroidering, quilting, gardening, and dancing with Dennis. She treasured the time spent with friends and family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis Heldt of Norwood Young America; children, Cindy Lou Flatgard and her partner, Mitch, of Winsted, and Darvin Heldt and his wife, Paula, of Lester Prairie; grandchildren, Nathan Heldt, Dawn McCarthy and her husband, Mark, Darrin Grack, and Michael Heldt; and great-grandchildren, Collyn Catlin, Marshall McCarthy, Brayden McCarthy, Dennis McCarthy, and Parker McCarthy.

Carol is further survived by a brother, Gilbert Stuedemann and his wife, Pearl, of Gaylord; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Kathleen Stuedemann of Plato, Mary Voss of Mankato, and Judy Sellnow and her husband, Robert, of Glencoe; nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Lillian Stuedemann; brothers Albert Stuedemann, and Earl Stuedemann; and sisters (infant) Dora Stuedemann, and Shirley Stuedemann and her husband, Willis.
