Gerald was born May 13, 1937, in Watertown, to Elizabeth and Orville Hendricks.
He attended Watertown Schools, graduated in 1955, and attended Augsburg College, earning degrees in mathematics and education.
Jerry married his high school sweetheart, Maxine, in 1958. He taught in the Minneapolis school system before becoming assistant principal at Wayzata Junior High.
Jerry decided to leave education, and entered what was to be the first of numerous business ventures in and around Watertown and Minnesota. His son, Todd, joined him as a partner in those business ventures, and they remained business partners and friends until Jerry’s death.
Jerry lived in Watertown his entire life and loved the community and the people in it. When he wasn’t in Watertown, you could find Jerry up north at the place he called “Heaven on Earth;” Bay Lake.
No matter where you found Jerry, you could always sense his enjoyment of people, his love of music and singing, and his devotion to his Lord.
He will be missed.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 60 years, Maxine; son Todd (Lynn Strom) Hendricks; daughter Tracy (Glen) Hulley; grandchildren Samantha (Justin) Pohlen, Adam (Ashley) Hendricks, Hunter Hulley, and Hannah Hulley; great-grandchildren Griffin and Gunnar Pohlen, Hayden and Cade Hendricks; and special granddaughters Amanda and Emma Strom.
