Bernard L. Jeurissen, age 88, of Shakopee, entered eternal life Sunday, Dec. 2, 2018, at his home.
Mass of Christian Burial will take place Friday, Dec. 7 at 10:30 a.m. at the Parish of Sts. Joachim and Anne, in the Church of St. Mark, 350 S. Atwood St., Shakopee, with the Rev. Erik Lundgren officiating. Interment will be in the Catholic Cemetery.
There was visitation Thursday, Dec. 6 from 4 to 8 p.m. at McNearney-Schmidt Funeral Home, 1220 3rd Ave. E., Shakopee; and visitation will continue Friday morning from 9:30 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are Bernard’s grandchildren: Jesse Schmitt, Mark Jeurissen, Bill Diethelm, Adam Jeurissen, Sam Jeurissen, and Bob Jeurissen.

Bernard was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Carver County, the son of Hubert and Genevieve (LaTour) Jeurissen.
He married Jeanette Jacobs Jan. 14, 1953, in Carver.
Bernard was a life-long farmer, and at one time was on the Chaska Creamery Board.
He was a 3rd Degree member of the Shakopee Knights of Columbus.
In his younger days, Bernard enjoyed dancing with Jeanette.
He loved when his grandchildren would come over to his house, and big family gatherings made him happy.
Bernard was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Sharry (John) St. Martin; and son-in-law, Steve Diethelm.
He is survived by his children, Barbara Diethelm, Daniel (Sue), Yvonne (Allan) Schmitt, Jeff (Toni), and Rick (Mindy); 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Hubert.
