Robert J. Neisen, 89

Robert James Neisen, age 89, of Montrose, formerly of Delano, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his home.

A memorial service will take place Saturday, April 28 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Lutheran Church in Delano. Inurnment will be in West Mt. Olive Cemetery.

There will be a gathering of family and friends Friday, April 27, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Iten Funeral Home in Delano; continuing Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m., prior to the service at the church.

Arrangements are with the Iten Funeral Home in Delano.

Robert was born Oct. 17, 1928, in Delano, to Jacob and Catherine (Rudolph) Neisen.

He was baptized at St. Peter Catholic Church in Delano, and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.

Robert was united in marriage to Darlene Schuette June 10, 1953, at Zion Lutheran Church in Mayer.

Robert was a lifelong farmer in Delano. He also worked as a pattern maker at Pako Plastics in Delano.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Catherine Neisen; sister Elizabeth Topel; infant brother Jacob Neisen; parents-in-law Edward and Anna Schuette; brothers-in-law Leo Topel, Al Westlin, Bill Topel, Delbert Schuette, Kenneth Schuette and Lyle Leaf; sister-in-law Phyllis Leaf; and step granddaughter Toni Huber.

Robert is survived by his wife of 64 years, Darlene; sons James (Karen), and Jerry (Stephanie) Neisen; grandchildren Josie Neisen, Erin (Josh) Hanson, Alicia (R.T.) Regan, Arick Neisen and Austin Neisen; great-grandchildren Drake and Isabella Hanson; sisters Marilyn Westlin, and Dorothy Topel; brother John Neisen; sisters-in-law Erna Schuette and Eldoras (Mike) Schuette; step grandchildren Donnie (Jenny) and Billy (Trisha) Dennis and Steven (Amanda) Speetzen; step great-grandchildren Laci, Natylee, Austin and Alivia Dennis, and Nolan and Nora Speetzen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
