Melvin Trelstad, 86

Melvin Trelsted, 86, of Rindal, died Oct. 4, 2018.

Funeral arrangements are set for Friday, Oct. 12 at St. Philips Parish, 821 East 5th street, Litchfield.

Melvin Bethuel Trelstad was born to Reverend P.M. Trelstad and Pearl Marie (Faudskar) Trelstad in Rindal, MN on January 13, 1932. He died in his home surrounded by family on October 4, 2018. He is proceeded in death by seven siblings, Allen (Marge) Trelstad, Paul Trelstad, Maynard Trelstad, Beverly Shelstad, Priscilla Wasburg, Luther Trelstad and Pearl Clear. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Loretta Trelstad “Fuzzy” and their seven children: Tim Trelstad, Matthew (Joann) Trelstad, Paula VanDusen, Mike (Margo) Trelstad, Lori (Mike) Smith, Jeff Trelstad, Sarah (Paul) Lindahl. As well as his brother David (Judy) Trelstad,

sister-in-laws Avonne and Eileen Trelstad and many nieces and nephews.

Melvin’s 23 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (and growing) were a light of his life. Including Amy (Paul), Andrew, Kim, Melanie, Travis, Kelsey, Thomas, Kristie, Angie, Whitney, Morgan, Julie, Jennifer, Daniel, Abbie, Jason, Jordan, Nathan, Samuel, Anna, Amber, Anthony, Andrea, Landon, Mason,Ryder, Isabella,Myra, and Rosalie.

Melvin proudly served in the US army during the Korean War. He enjoyed farming, woodworking, singing, cooking, and spending time with his family. As a devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was never without a project or task. He will be greatly missed by all, remembered for his patience and honored for his great love of life. We “love you more,” Papa.
