Linda L. Zabel, age 74, of Delano, passed away Sept. 10, 2018.
Visitation will take place Sunday, Sept. 16, 2018 from 4 to 8 p.m. with prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at The Peterson Chapel, 119 Central Ave, Buffalo. Funeral service will take place Monday, Sept. 17, 2018 at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour prior at Ascension Lutheran Church, 15870 46th Ave. N., Plymouth. Interment at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery-Crawford Lake, Buffalo.
Linda was born at home in Waverly to Frederic and Lorraine (Mahlstedt) Reimer Dec. 5, 1943. Linda was brought to faith in holy baptism by Reverend Grupe, Dec. 26, 1943 at Bethlehem Evangelical and Reformed Church in Maple Lake. April 14, 1957, she was confirmed at the same church by Reverend Harry Stroessner.
Linda attended Howard Lake High School, and graduated with the class of 1961. She met Joel Zabel at a youth club event, and the two were joined in holy marriage Feb. 17, 1962. Together, they happily raised four children.
She enjoyed spending time with her women’s Bible study group, helping with the students from vacation Bible school, working on plastic canvas craft projects, coloring, baking, and spending time with her goats.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Frederic and Lorraine Reimer; and brother, Phillip.
She is survived by husband Joel of 56 years; children, David (Sue) Zabel, Sherry (Kay Byrne) Zabel, Tammy (Mike) Melott, Jolene (Mark Haase) Schmidt; grandchildren, Nathanael Zabel, Anthony Zabel, Daniel Zabel, Douglas Zabel, Megan (Luke) Bramstedt, Sarah (Cameron) Nystrom, Benjamin (Elizabeth) Melott, Alyssa Schmidt, Amber Schmidt, and Aidan Haase; and great-granddaughter, Lydia Bramstedt.
Serving the family is the Peterson Chapel of Buffalo.
