Delores Ann (Pulkrabek) Zebell, age 92, of Glencoe, passed away Thursday, Dec. 20, 2018, at Glen Fields Living with Care in Glencoe.
She was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Glencoe, the daughter of Albin and Alice (Streachek) Pulkrabek. Delores was baptized as an infant Sept. 5, 1926, by Father Moloney at St. George’s Catholic Church in Glencoe; and later confirmed in her faith April 1, 1958, by the Rev. H. A. Bode at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe,
Delores received her education in Glencoe, graduating with the Glencoe High School class of 1944.
She was united in marriage to Maynard Zebell June 20, 1950, by Father Robert Bastyr at St. George’s Catholic Church in Glencoe. Delores and Maynard made their home in Glencoe, and their marriage was blessed with two children, Dwaine and Margie. They shared over 68 years of marriage.
In addition to being a loving wife, mother, and homemaker, Delores worked at Green Giant and Telex in Glencoe, retiring around 1990.
She was a member at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe.
Delores enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and raising chickens and roosters. She cherished the time spent with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Maynard Zebell of Glencoe; children, Dwaine Zebell and his wife, Debra, of Glencoe, and Margie Takash and her husband, Pete, of White Bear Lake; grandchildren Dan Zebell and his wife, Angela, of Blaine, Derek Zebell and his wife, Jenny, of Glencoe, Ben Takash, and Tessa Takash, both of White Bear Lake.
Delores is further survived by great-grandchildren Laura Zebell, Claira Zebell, Zachary Zebell, Owen Zebell, and Eli Zebell; nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albin and Alice Pulkrabek; and brothers, Maynard Pulkrabek, Eldon Pulkrabek, and Richard Pulkrabek.
Her funeral service took place Sunday, Dec. 23 at 3 p.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Glencoe, with interment following at the church cemetery.
Pastor Peter Adelsen officiated at the funeral service, and the organist was Jan Heins. Congregational hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “On Eagle’s Wings,” “How Great Thou Art,” and “Just As I Am.”
Honorary casket bearers were Claira Zebell, Owen Zebell, and Eli Zebell.
Casket bearers were Dwaine Zebell, Dan Zebell, Derek Zebell, Ben Takash, Tessa Takash, Laura Zebell, and Zachary Zebell.
